Marco Mengoni is een Italiaanse pop singer-songwriter. In 2009 won hij het derde seizoen van de Italiaanse X-factor en in 2013 het Sanremo Music Festival. Met ‘L'essenziale’ is hij zevende geworden op het Eurovisie Songfestival van 2013.

Fast forward, tien jaar later, wint Mengoni weer het Sanremo Festival en keert hij terug naar het Eurovisie Songfestival om Italië te vertegenwoordigen.

Waar gaat het Italiaanse songfestivalnummer ‘Due Vite’ over?

Zijn nummer ‘Due Vite’, een Italiaanse powerballad, gaat over hoe de levens van twee voormalige liefdes uit elkaar groeien na het verbreken van de relatie. De relatiebreuk laat hem voelen alsof hij stilstaat, terwijl de ander juist opbloeit tot een versie die hij niet kent. 

Een lied vol nostalgie, spanning en spijt, maar ook hoop. De hoop om weer bij elkaar te komen en opnieuw te beginnen.
